Vol. 315 No. 11

Written Answers. - School Transport.

148.

asked the Minister for Education if he will make arrangements to reinvestigate cases where parents dispute the decision of CIE inspectors' finding on school transport problems.

I do not understand what decision the Deputy has in mind. CIE are the agent of the Minister for Education in relation to the provision of school transport and it is the Minister of State at the Department of Education who makes the decisions in relation to the interpretation of the regulations governing the operation of the scheme.

Perhaps the Deputy would indicate to me a case typical of those referred to in his question and I will be happy to have it investigated.
