asked the Minister for Labour the number of appeals against unfair dismissal received by the Employment Appeals Tribunal since its inception and the number of appeals by employees upheld, rejected and withdrawn.

The situation at the end of June 1979, was as follows: since its inception, May, 1977, 603 appeals under the Unfair Dismissals Act, 1977, were received by the tribunal; 134 appeals were upheld; 155 were dismissed; and 115 were withdrawn.
