asked the Minister for the Environment if he will now recognise driving licences issued in Northern Ireland.

There have been no recent developments on securing a bilateral agreement on the matter between this country and the United Kingdom. Within the EEC the Council of Ministers has not yet agreed to proposals regarding the standardisation of licensing arrangements between member states, but discussion is continuing.
