Vol. 315 No. 16

Written Answers. - Tax-Free Allowances Certificates.

77.

asked the Minister for Finance the total number of revised PAYE certificates of tax-free allowances awaiting postal delivery arising from the recent postal dispute and when delivery may be expected.

The notices and certificates of tax-free allowances for employees, which take account of the budget changes, have been collected by the Post Office.

The corresponding documents required by employers, namely, copies of certificates of tax-free allowances, tax deduction cards and tax tables containing the new rates for 1979-80, have also been collected by the Post Office.

Delivery to employers and employees is expected to be completed by the Post Office early this week.

The total number of employees affected is approximately 1.0 million.
