Vol. 315 No. 16

Written Answers. - Northern Ireland Eggs.

109.

asked the Minister for Agriculture, in view of the dumping of eggs from Northern Ireland on the Irish egg market, the action he proposes to take to protect the Irish egg industry.

I do not accept that eggs from Northern Ireland are being dumped on the market here. Provided that they comply with the EEC egg marketing regulations and that the relevant monetary compensatory amounts are paid, eggs may be freely imported from Northern Ireland and sold in this part of the country.
