My Department will be in a position to sanction a grant towards the cost of the new school at Ballintubber, Claremorris, when the amount of the local contribution has been agreed and satisfactory evidence of title to the site has been furnished.

The upkeep of the school premises, including prefabricated buildings, is a charge on the capitation grant payable to the school and details of this expenditure by the school authorities are not available in my Department.
Only in the case of one school was a grant paid in respect of an improvement scheme. This was at Mount Pleasant school, where the heating system was extended to the prefabricated classroom at a cost of £2,000 approximately.
