Vol. 315 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary Courthouse.

7.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that the courthouse in Tipperary town has not been painted externally for the past 20 years or so, and if he will outline his intentions in this matter.

The provision and maintenance of courthouse accommodation in Tipperary South Riding is the responsibility of Tipperary (SR) County Council. I understand that it is quite a number of years since the premises were last decorated and for this reason the country registrar, in whom this courthouse is vested, has been pressing the county council to redecorate the premises. I am informed that decoration of the interior has been scheduled for the current year and that some work may be carried out on the exterior also if funds allow.
