Mr. Quinn

asked the Minister for the Environment the number of houses built in each local authority area in each year for the past ten years by (a) local authorities, (b) private, and (c) co-operative associations.

(2) Information regarding non-local authority dwellings completed up to 31 December, 1977 is available only in relation to each county (including urban areas) and county borough.

(3) Information regarding dwellings completed by co-operative groups is not available on an annual basis. The available information was given in reply to Question No. 47 on 17 July, 1979 (Columns 2634 to 2640 of Official Report refers).

(4) The figures for local authority dwellings completed by Dublin Corporation and Dún Laoghaire Borough Corporation include dwellings completed in the functional area of Dublin County Council, as follows:

The information sought is available on a county, including urban areas, and county borough basis for the years 1970-1971 to 1977 inclusive in the Quarterly Bulletins of Housing Statistics copies of which are in the Oireachtas Library. Information for the year 1978 is not yet available. Information on 1969-70 is available in the form of a tabular statement which I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have circulated with the Official Report.
