Vol. 316 No. 12

Written Answers. - Kinsale Natural Gas.

446.

asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy the present daily flow of natural gas from the Kinsale Head field, the names of the firms receiving it, and if these allocations are in line with the original allocation.

The Kinsale Head gas is currently being received by NET and the ESB. I do not consider it appropriate that I should give details of day-to-day sales as these are matters between Bord Gáis Éireann and their customers.

I can say however that the quantity being received by NET is in line with the original allocation. In the case of the ESB the full original allocation will not be required until the power station at Aghada, now under construction, is completed. The quantity at present being received by the ESB is in line with the amount which the board originally agreed they would require at this stage.
