Written Answers. - Cork Land Use and Transportation Study.

459.

andMr. L. Burke asked the Minister for the Environment if moneys have been made available to any of the bodies which commissioned the Cork Land Use and Transportation Study for implementation of the recommendations in that study.

In so far as my Department are concerned, I have allocated the following moneys to Cork County Council and Cork Corporation in the current year:

Cork County Council

£3,707,000

Cork Corporation

£1,708,000

These grants include sums of £.580 million and £1.180 million to the county council and corporation respectively for projects recommended in the study report.

Cork (South) County

Council

£4,590,000

Cork Corporation

£461,000

These capital allocations include provision for various water supply and drainage projects listed in Phase I (1978-81) of the Cork Land Use/Transportation Plan, a number of which are already in progress.

Cork (South) County

Council

£2,050,000

Cork Corporation

£3,900,000

The land acquisition and housing development policies of the local authorities concerned are also geared to tie in as far as practicable with the recommendations in the study.
