The Industrial Development Authority's Industrial Plan 1978-82 has set the following job targets for County Mayo town groups:

Advance factories with a total area exceeding 165,000 sq. ft. have been provided. A further 96,000 sq. ft. are under construction at present. Construction is expected to start in the new year on the two 24,000 sq. ft. advance factories at Castlebar which I recently announced.
I understand that the IDA are at an advanced stage of negotiations with a company which is considering the location of a project in Charlestown.
The IDA are negotiating 14 small industry projects for a number of locations in County Mayo. These projects have an employment potential of over 150.
