Vol. 317 No. 6

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 1, 6, 9, 2, 10 (Resumed), 11 (Resumed), 12 and 3. By agreement the House will sit until 10.30 p.m. Notwithstanding anything contained in Standing Orders a motion to sit later than that can be made at any time up to 10.30 p.m.

Which Estimates are being taken in Vote No. 12? I wish to clarify the last statement. Of course, a motion can be put to sit later than 10.30 p.m. but there is no agreement that such a motion will be taken at 10.30 p.m.

The Estimates in No. 12 will be taken in the order in which they appear. As far as the point made by Deputy FitzGerald is concerned, certainly the motion may be put.

The motion will be put to the House at that stage if necessary.

As far as Standing Orders permit.

On the Order of Business, since this will be the last occasion on which the Taoiseach will be giving the Order of Business——

The Deputy is a bit premature.

In view of coming events, I wish to convey my best wishes to the Taoiseach for his future years in politics. It will be his last Thursday announcing of the Order of Business.

I appreciate that, but I hope to he here next Tuesday morning again.
