I have no function in relation to the staff of the Pigs and Bacon Commission except that any person in the employment of the commission who was appointed prior to the coming into operation of the Pigs and Bacon (Amendment) Act, 1961, may not be removed from such employment without my consent.
I understand that the commission have invited the Local Government and Public Services Union to discuss the question of redundancies.
