Dáil Éireann debate -
Thursday, 13 Dec 1979

Vol. 317 No. 9

Written Answers. - Daíl Constituency Commission.

340.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he expects the Dáil Boundary Commission to conclude its report and if the Government will undertake to publish, without amendment or change, the contents of the report and its related boundary maps.

The Dáil Éireann Constituency Commission was established to advise and report on the formation of constituencies for the election of members to Dáil Eireann. No time limit was set for the commission's report and I am not in a position, therefore, to say when the report is likely to be made.

In regard to publication of the report, the standard procedure in such matters is that, on receipt, the report would be submitted to the Government for a formal decision on publication.
