Vol. 317 No. 9

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

412.

asked the Minister for the Environment if sanction in respect of stage 2 of the sewerage scheme in Union Hall, County Cork, has been given and when work will commence thereon.

I approved of the Cork (West) County Council's proposal to undertake Stage 2 of the Union Hall Sewerage Scheme on 3 August 1979 as part of the council's 1979 small water and sewerage schemes programme, for which I have made an allocation of £90,000.

I understand that work on the scheme is in progress.

413.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason why a payment outstanding for three years in respect of the Ballyknockane group water scheme, Killurney, Kilsheelan, County Tipperary, has not been made to a contractor (name supplied) in County Tipperary.

It is assumed that the Deputy is referring to the Dunkerrin Moneygall Group Water Scheme which serves the Ballyknockane area. The question of payments to the contractor is a matter between the trustees of the group and the contractor.

414.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received a proposal from Meath County Council for a sewerage scheme in Summerhill, County Meath, and when sanction for same will be forthcoming.

Proposals for a sewerage scheme to serve the village of Summerhill were submitted by Meath County Council on 31 January 1977 and are at present under consideration in my Department. I cannot say at this stage when I will be in a position to convey a decision thereon to the local authority.
