The number of local authority houses (a) commenced and (b) completed from 1 January 1979 to 31 October 1979 was 4,276 and 4,200, respectively. The number of non-local authority houses completed in the same period was 17,367.
It is estimated that the total number of dwellings completed from 1 January 1979 to 30 November 1979 was 25,643. A breakdown of this figure between local authority and private dwellings is not yet available.
