Vol. 317 No. 9

Written Answers. - Rathmines (Dublin) College of Commerce.

439.

asked the Minister for Education the steps he is taking to relieve severe overcrowding remedy poor facilities at the College of Commerce, Rathmines, with particular reference to (a) replacement of pre-fabs and (b) library facilities.

Discussions have taken place between the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee and the Department of Education in relation to the matter of accommodation in the colleges of technology, including the College of Commerce, Rathmines.

Proposals from the committee for the purpose of relieving overcrowding in relation to existing approved courses will receive urgent consideration. It has been arranged that officers of the building unit of the Department may advise the committee in relation to additional accommodation which may be proposed for acquisition or to be leased for the purpose of individual colleges.
