Vol. 318 No. 1

Written Answers. - Dublin Dental Treatment Application.

557.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reasons an application for assistance towards dental treatment (details supplied) in Dublin has been refused in view of the claim by both employer and employee that full insurance contributions were paid in respect of this claim and the steps his Department has taken to ascertain the reasons why credit has not been awarded.

Payment on the dental claim of the insured person in question was authorised on 15 January 1980.

The original delay in dealing with this matter arose from the employer's failure to surrender the insured person's 1977-78 social insurance card at the proper time. Subsquent delay was attributable to the postal strike, and the consequential accumulation of arrears in the Department.
