Vol. 318 No. 1

Written Answers. - Unclaimed Income Tax Relief.

473.

asked the Minister for Finance if an estimate of income tax relief not claimed in respect of some eligible children in the State is available to the Revenue Commissioners.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that they have no information indicating that such relief is not being claimed. There is a standing instruction to the commissioners' staff that, as far as may be practicable, they should draw the attention of taxpayers to any reliefs to which they appear to be clearly entitled but which they may have omitted to claim.
