Vol. 318 No. 1

Written Answers. - Drinagh (County Cork) Sewerage Scheme.

498.

asked the Minister for the Environment the up-to-date position regarding the sewerage scheme for Drinagh, County Cork, the estimated cost thereof, whether sanction for same has been given and the expected commencement date.

Preliminary proposals for the Drinagh Sewerage Scheme are under consideration in my Department. The local authority's proposals for this scheme must be considered in the context of the amount of capital available for water and sewerage schemes and the number of such schemes in progress or getting to construction at the present time. Having regard to the priority of the scheme and the need to conserve capital available for the schemes of highest priority I cannot say at this stage when I will be in a position to approve of Drinagh Sewerage Scheme which was estimated to cost £140,000 in July 1978.
