asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism if his attention has been drawn to the advance factory site lying idle at Finner, Ballyshannon, County Donegal for the past five years and the steps he proposes to take to ensure that an industry is allocated to this site.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that the site referred to by the Deputy was acquired for the purposes of attracting a large-scale industry to this area of County Donegal and not for an advance factory. The IDA have been vigorously promoting this site, particularly for overseas investment and will continue to do so.
I might add that the IDA are at present negotiating the purchase of a further site of about 17 acres near Ballyshannon for smaller industrial projects.
