Vol. 318 No. 9

Written Answers. - Cattle TB Tests.

26.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will allow cattle to be retested for tuberculosis within 42 days of a previous test and, if not, why.

As I announced some time ago, I have decided that cattle from herds clear of TB may be re-tested after an interval of 45 days. In the case of cattle from herds with reactor on inconclusive animals the 60-day interval between tests must remain. I am satisfied that on veterinary grounds it would be unwise to provide for an interval of less than 45 days.
