Vol. 318 No. 9

Written Answers. - Death Penalty Abolition.

295.

asked the Minister for Justice if he intends to introduce legislation to abolish the death penalty, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I stated, in reply to a question on 13 December 1977 (volume 302, column 1206), that I had no proposals to put before the Government to change the present law in this matter. That position has not altered.

Question No. 296 postponed.
