Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bovine Leucosis.

21.

asked the Minister for Health if bovine leucosis, which exists in Ireland, is a danger to human health.

Studies relating to the possible transmission of enzootic bovine leukosis from animals to humans have been reviewed by the Joint Services Committee on Zoonoses. This committee, which comprises medical doctors and veterinarians, has concluded that, on the basis of the available evidence, no danger to the health exists from the presence of the disease in cattle.
