asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry does not qualify for unemployment assistance.

The person concerned is entitled to unemployment assistance at the weekly rate of £28.40 which is the maximum rate applicable to a married man in a rural area with two qualified children—£39.00, less the value of his means assessed at £10.60 a week.

Arrangements have been made to have payment made during the coming week.
