Vol. 320 No. 1

Written Answers. - RTE Reception

272.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs in view of the numerous representations by the residents of Lower Glanmire Road, Cork, regarding the very poor reception of RTE, the action he proposes to take in the matter.

RTE consider that the reception of RTE 1 in this area is adequate and assume therefore that the question refers to RTE 2 only. Since the RTE 2 service was introduced in November 1978 from a limited number of transmitters and transposers the service has been extended to areas served by a further nine transposers and further extensions are in hand. RTE are not, however, in a position at this stage to say when the second service will be provided in this area.
