Vol. 320 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Income Tax Demands.

39.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason the Revenue Commissioners continue to send demands for income tax addressed to a person (details supplied) who is deceased.

The deceased died on 20 December 1979 and the inspector of taxes was notified by letter dated 21 January 1980. It is regretted that the notification was not acted upon in time to prevent the issue of a demand on 10 April. Collection of the tax due by the deceased has now been suspended.
