Vol. 320 No. 9

Written Answers - Clare Schools.

200.

asked the Minister for Education if he will sanction the necessary expenditure on the national school at Bansha, Doonbeg parish, County Clare, to provide water and sewerage facilities and all necessary repairs.

A report on Bansha national school from the Commissioners of Public Works is under consideration at present. A decision concerning repairs and so on will be conveyed to the reverend chairman as soon as possible.

201.

asked the Minister for Education if he will provide a new national school at Mullagh, County Clare, to cater for the increased numbers of pupils attending the old school which has inadequate and obsolete accommodation.

The educational requirements at Mullagh are being considered in the context of the requirements of the entire parish.

Pending completion of consideration of the general situation it is not possible to decide on the future long-term educational provision for the area. It would not be in accordance with general educational policy to provide a two-teacher school in Mullagh in replacement of the existing premises.
