Vol. 321 No. 5

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 9 (resumed), 10, 11 and 6. Private Members' Business from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.—Item No. 81 by agreement.

On the Order of Business, as the Taoiseach is no doubt aware the present deadline for archaeological excavations at Wood Quay ends next Saturday. Will the Taoiseach inform us——

We cannot raise this at this stage.

——if it is the Government's intention to extend it for a further period?

Deputy Griffin usually understands procedure very well. We cannot raise this matter now.

It is a matter of great urgency.

I do not doubt it, but it is not in order.

On the Order of Business, Deputy Bruton and Deputy Barry asked on 20 February 1980 when the science budget for 1980 would be presented to the Dáil and were told that it would be presented before the Summer Recess. Will the Taoiseach say whether the Government are willing to concede in principle that that science budget if presented before the Summer Recess might also be debated here before the recess? Are the Government willing to make Government time available for such a debate?

I have no notice of this, but I will consider the matter.
