Vol. 321 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Disabled Persons' House Improvement Scheme.

285.

(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment if he will state in respect of each housing authority: the number of applications for house improvement grants under the Disabled Persons Scheme awaiting approval in his Department.

The scheme of grants for disabled persons is administered by the local authorities, who have responsibility for the approval of individual applications. Information on the number of applications awaiting approval by local authorities is not available in my Department which merely recoups part of each authority's total expenditure on the grants.
