asked the Minister for Defence the number of Permanent Defence Force and FCA personnel who took part in the military parade held in Longford on St. Patrick's Day 1980, the units of the Defence Forces which participated and the number and type of military vehicles involved.

Two officers and 13 other ranks of the Fourth Motor Squadron of the Permanent Defence Forces, together with one officer and seven other ranks of the Seventeenth Infantry Batallion (Forsa Cosanta Áitiúil) took part in the 1980 St. Patrick's Day Parade in Longford. Five Army vehicles also took part in the parade, consisting of four Panhard armoured cars and one land rover.
