Vol. 321 No. 9

Written Answers. - National Folk Museum.

36.

asked the Minister for Education the proposals, if any, for the establishment of a National Folk Museum similar to that which exists near Belfast and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The question of the establishment of a National Folk Museum has been considered from time to time by the authorities of the National Museum and my Department. There are no immediate plans for the establishment of such a museum as it is considered that there are other aspects of the museum service to which priority has to be accorded in the matter of requirements for improvement and expansion.
