Vol. 321 No. 9

Written Answers. - Brucellosis Grant.

351.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the delay to date in the payment of a grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork for five reactor brucellosis cattle sent to the IMP Midleton, County Cork, on 28 November 1979; and when payment will issue.

Payment of the relevant grant was made in this case on 21 May 1980. The case was considered for payment as soon as confirmation of slaughter of the reactor cattle was received in the district veterinary office from the factory to which the cattle were consigned. There was an element of delay at the factory in identifying one of the reactor animals as it had been retagged.
