Vol. 321 No. 10

Business of Dáil.

In the past fortnight I have been trying to raise in this House the matter of the withdrawal of train services to Youghal for the children of Cork.

Surely the Deputy is not trying to raise it again.

Evidently the rules of the House do not allow me to do so. With the permission of the Chair, I propose to raise on the Adjournment the matter of the capital allocation to CIE from the Department of Transport.

I will communicate with the Deputy during the afternoon.

I wish to notify the Chair of my intention to raise on the Adjournment matters arising on two questions I put down and which I understood the Minister to say yesterday that he would take today in relation to the College of Art. I think there has been some misunderstanding about this matter.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

I undertook to answer the questions in due course when they came up on the Order Paper. I also undertook to communicate with the Deputy.

It was my understanding—and I accept there was a genuine misunderstanding between us—that the Minister undertook to answer the questions today, as I had requested. As there has been this misunderstanding and as the matter is urgent I shall have to raise the matter on the Adjournment.

The actual date was mentioned on the question—it was for next Tuesday.

I asked that the questions be taken today and I understood the Minister to say he would take them today.

I understood they might be coming up today in the ordinary course of events.
