Vol. 321 No. 10

Written Answers. - County Galway Lands.

61.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when the Land Commission intend to allot the remaining nine acres of land, known locally as the Town field, Mount Bellew, Ballinasloe, County Galway.

The Land Commission are not at present in a position to say when allocation of the plot in question will be effected.

62.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if his attention has been drawn to the lands of the Behan estate, Mountain, Ahascragh, Ballinasloe, County Galway which are at present offered for sale; and if he will direct the Land Commission to acquire these lands for division among the small-holders in the area.

The Land Commission have no proposals for the acquisition of the property referred to. I understand that they have already a sizeable acreage on hands which will be adequate to deal with congestion in the area.
