Vol. 321 No. 10

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

178.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason a telephone service has not been provided to date for an applicant (details supplied) in County Cork who is living alone and who paid a deposit on 16 November 1979.

The work involved in providing service in this case is extensive and is now in hands. The telephone will be installed when this work is completed within the next two months or so.

183.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for the delay in the provision of a telephone service for an applicant (details supplied) in County Cork who was requested to pay the deposit in December 1978.

Provision of service was delayed because, following the payment of his deposit, the applicant indicated that he wished to be connected to an exchange other than the local one, as had been proposed. This change could not be agreed to and the matter was not resolved until the end of February 1980. Service will be provided within the next two months.
