Vol. 321 No. 11

Written Answers. - Clonmel Barracks.

182.

asked the Minister for Defence the proposals he has for the improvement of accommodation and facilities at Kickham Barracks, Clonmel, County Tipperary.

The following works are at present in progress at the barracks:

(1) two new squash courts; (2) the replacement of the roof of the clothing and ordnance stores; (3) the provision of a dressingroom and showers at the gymnasium; and (4) the re-wiring of the officers mess.

The construction of a new guardroom has been virtually completed.

It is expected that a contract will be placed soon for the building of a new dining hall and cookhouse. Further works contemplated are the renewal of the roof of the non-commissioned officers' mess and the provision of sanitary and ablution facilities in four men's billets.
