Vol. 321 No. 11

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

288.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will arrange to have a telephone service provided for an applicant (details supplied) in County Tipperary who has already paid a contribution of £234.

Service will be provided but because of the heavy construction work involved and the volume of other urgent engineering work awaiting attention in the area it is expected that it will be four months or so before this can be done.

289.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will arrange to have a telephone service provided for an applicant (details supplied) in County Tipperary who has already paid the installation fee.

The applicant has not yet been offered service and has not paid the connection fee. Terms will, however, be quoted to him shortly and service will be provided within three months from the date of the agreement.

290.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, the reason for the two-year delay in the transfer of telephone service for a person (details supplied) in County Donegal to his new home; and when the transfer will be effected.

The provision of service at the new address involves extensive engineering work, including the provision of over a kilometre of new pole route. Because of this and of the volume of other urgent engineering work requiring attention in the area it will not be possible to provide service until early next year.

291.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will arrange to have a telephone service provided for a pensioner (details supplied) in County Tipperary who has already paid the installation fee.

It is expected that service will be provided within a month or so.
