asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will provide a satisfactory telephone service for a subscriber (details supplied) in County Dublin, who has had only one week's service over an eleven-week period.

Service has been restored and should continue to be satisfactory.

30.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin whose livelihood necessitates him being absent from home for the greater part of the year.

Service will be provided when necessary cabling works, on which provision of service is dependent, are carried out about the middle of next year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will introduce saving stamps, similar to the television licence stamps, to assist people in paying their telephone bills; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The question of introducing a savings stamp scheme for telephone subscribers to make it easier for them to pay their quarterly bills has been under consideration for some time and I hope to make an announcement on the matter shortly.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of telephone services disconnected in County Galway since January 1980; and the reasons for same in each case.

The number was 861. In each case service was withdrawn for non-payment of a telephone account.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for an applicant (details supplied) in County Cork who applied three years ago.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the telephone exchange at Nine-Mile-House, County Tipperary will become automatic.
