Vol. 322 No. 5

Written Answers. - British Deportation of Irish Family.

34.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he is aware that an Irish family (details supplied) are being requested to leave Britain because they have no resident's permit despite the fact that they are permanent residents of the Republic of Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The family in question are not Irish citizens but have residence in Ireland as refugees. My understanding is that they have no exemption from British entry and residence requirements and are obliged to comply with British regulations in such matters.
