Vol. 322 No. 5

Written Answers. - Consolidation of International Treaties.

50.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs when he proposes to publish an up-to-date text of the consolidated treaties series which would outline and indicate all the international treaties and conventions to which the State of Ireland has given its full or partial ratification; if he will indicate his intentions in this regard, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

International agreements to which Ireland becomes a party are published in the Treaty Series as soon as possible after they come into force. Notification of the entry into force of such agreements is published in Iris Oifigiúil. Each agreement is printed in the English language in the Treaty Series and is available to the public from the Government Publication's Office. There are no plans to publish the series in a consolidated form. Multilateral agreements of a technical nature are not published as they are available through the relevant organisations responsible for these agreements.

An index to the series was published in 1954, 1962, 1967 and 1975 which lists all the international agreements published up to 1970 inclusive. The most recent index, for 1971 to 1976 inclusive, will be published shortly.
