Vol. 322 No. 9

Written Answers. - Payment of Grants.

133.

(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment the reason payment of a grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cavan, applied for about two years ago, is still outstanding, although the work has been completed and passed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Pursuant to section 23 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979, a grant could not be paid in this case as the applicant did not claim payments in writing by 31 January 1980, the final prescribed date for claiming payments under the old scheme of reconstruction grants, in respect of works completed by 31 December 1978.

134.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a reconstruction and water and sewage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway who is due same for the past few years.

An application for a house improvement grant by the person named was rejected on 29 August 1979 as the work proposed would not have met the requirements of my Department's sevenpoint standard for grant-aided improvement work.

The applicant informed the inspector that he did not propose to provide water and sewerage facilities.
