Vol. 322 No. 9

Written Answers. - Free Electricity Allowance.

296.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason for the delay in the granting of a free electricity allowance to a person (details supplied) in South West Cork; and if he will confirm that the allowance will be granted.

The delay in granting a free electricity allowance in this case was due to the fact that the applicant gave an incorrect pension number and as a result it became necessary to contact the British Authorities on two occasions and the applicant herself in order to obtain the information required.

The allowance is now being applied with effect from the December 1979-January 1980 billing period onwards. The applicant is now being notified to this effect.
