403.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will furnish the following information in relation to the Curragh military museum: (i) whether nonmilitary visitors are permitted to visit the museum, and, if not, why, (ii) the number of staff assigned to the museum, (iii) the extent of the premises available and (iv) details of major items of equipment preserved there.

Members of the general public who wish to visit the Military Museum at the Curragh may do so by arrangement with the Commandant of the Military College. The Museum is administered by an Officer of the Military College and consists of a building measuring 42 feet x 27 feet.

Among the items on display in the Museum are a varied collection of arms, including the Chester Beatty collection and authentic pictorial representations of military dress in Ireland over the centuries.
