Vol. 322 No. 9

Written Answers. - Cork Work Permit.

451.

Mr. Burke

asked the Minister for Labour the reason for the delay in issuing a work permit to a person (details supplied) in Cork; and when the necessary permit will issue.

Work permits normally take at least one month to process because of consultations with trade unions and/or other bodies as the necessity arises, but recently it has been taking somewhat longer because of an increase in the number of applications received. In the case in question the work permit was issued to the employer on 18 June 1980.
