The applicant in this case originally applied for an old age (contributory) pension but his claim was unsuccessful. He has now been considered for non-contributory old age pension and I am happy to say that this has been granted with effect from 8 March 1980. The appropriate pension book was issued on the 17 June 1980 and the arrears due are in course of issue.
