Vol. 322 No. 9

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Allowances.

485.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when (i) free electricity allowance, (ii) free television licence and (iii) a living alone allowance will be approved for a person (details supplied) in Dublin; the amount of the living-alone allowance; and when it will be paid.

Free electricity allowance has been approved in this case from the April/May 1980 billing period and the applicant has been notified. He may obtain a free television licence by bringing the notification of entitlement to free electricity allowance to the post office. Living alone allowance has been awarded to him at the rate of £1.65 weekly with effect from 25 April 1980. A pension book for this amount should be available for collection at the post office where he cashes his pension orders on Friday 27 June 1980.
