498.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for an elderly man (details supplied) in County Laois who is in poor health; if some priority will be given to his case; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is expected that terms will be quoted within the next month or so and that service will be provided within two months of completion of the necessary agreement.

499.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a business person (details supplied) in North County Dublin who applied three years ago, in view of the fact that service has recently been provided for a private individual who has just moved into the area.

Provision of service to this applicant is dependent on cabling works which, regrettably, are not expected to be completed until about the end of next year. Service will be provided immediately the cabling works are done. There is no record of a telephone having been installed in the area recently.
