Vol. 322 No. 9

Written Answers. - Security Services Payments.

18.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of organisations and business companies who pay a contribution to (i) the Garda Síochána and (ii) the State for security services.

Charges are made in respect of non-public duty performed by the gardaí by way of voluntary attendance inside sports grounds and at race meetings, and so on, at the request of the organisers of the events in question. This however is not security work as that term is normally used. That apart, there are no organisations or companies who pay a contribution to the Garda Síochána or to my Department for security services.
