Vol. 322 No. 9

Written Answers. - Tramore, County Waterford, Status.

112.

asked the Minister for the Environment if, in view of the growth of population in Tramore town, County Waterford, he will allow the status of an urban district council; and if he will make a statement on the matter

The initiation of a proposal to obtain urban district status for a town with town commissioners is, in law, a matter for the local government electors of the town concerned. In view of my functions to adjudicate on any such proposal it would not be appropriate for me to make any statement on the matter at this stage.
